Construction of a retaining wall in hardwood.

Dig out a trench for inserting the hardwood palisades or sheet piling, the depth of the trench is of course dependent on the heigth of your retaining wall (see table below). Provide minimum 15cm of space in front and the back of the palisade/ heet piling to fill it up with stabilized sand later.
Fill the bottom of the trench with a + 15cm of stabilized sand .
Place the palisade/sheet piling on this stabilization and ensure that they are all placed at the correct height.
Fill in the front and back of your palisade/sheet pile wall with stabilized sand, with the water level you can align the hardwood palisade/sheet piling in both directions.
Now place all the palisades/sheet piling to fully create your hardwod retaining wall.
If you would have some leftover of stabilized sand you can put this on the backside of the retaining wall.
Now you should lightly pour water over the stabilized sand.
It is advisable to provide anti-root fabric at the backside of your retaining wall, beware never use waterproof plastic.
After a few days, the stabilized sand is hardened out and you can put earth at the back to finish.

There you go, now you can enjoy a beautiful hardwood retaining wall.
